want to get together some extreme, health promoting, whole food ingredients & bring them to a culinary genius (sarah?) and see if they can whip them into food-that-tastes-good, and instant food, and reasonably priced sustainance. My 18 year old always wants “instant food”, something rivaling chips for ease of munching. There are some natural foods that could nourish our elder population to ease & even correct mind issues. Those are also good for all of us. someday soon.

I am out of most of my treasured supplements. I believe taking natural, food based, digestive enzymes is key to good health, unless one is eating all raw, organic, local, in season, etc. etc. Even if one is eating so pure, additional plant enzymes are little wonder workers with metabolic enzyme activity. Enzymes are life; one of the main reasons raw is so health inducing.

Since, at the moment my supplement purse is empty, I have been scrounging for what I can find. I’m out of supplemental enzymes. To help digestion, I have been making a quick tea out of bottled, naturally pressed, “Original Ginger Juice”, by giner people. I just shake about 20 to 30 shakes (probably a heavy teaspoon) into my cup, add about 1/2 to 1 tsp organic cinnamon powder & a long squirt of pure organic stevia & add hot water. Ginger for digestion & cinnamon for germ killing ability among others, stevia to sweeten and add its anti-fungal and other health benefits … tastes good wi/o cinnamon too.

Had 3 soft boiled eggs for breakfast with hulled hemp, frozen blueberries & water blended. What did you eat?

readubg . . .

Right hand, in the wrong place. I have discovered one can type read without using the right half of the keyboard. Leads me to wonder how many simple words could be typed correctly using only one side of the keyboard. I also often wonder how many names there are that use the same number of taps on the non-qwerty keypad of a phone. one, one, one, one. two, two, two, two. etc.

pam - one, one, one. lori - three, three, three, three. dagma . . no cigar for dagmar. pat, ben, vic . . huey, nope - 2, 2, 2, THREE. I always want the last name to work. saving a contact, it all just gets me thinking, for about a second.

Title was to be “reading a new book”

Non-fiction again. what an odd duck I am to relish settling in with yet another. Similar, but different, “exciting” to me … what new research, idea, discovery is lurking in the pages before me?

This one: “the body restoration plan” eliminate chemical calories & repair your body’s natural slimming system, by Dr Paula Baillie-Hamilton (expert in human metabolism)

There is an amazing link between the enormous growth in the toxins we are exposed to and the many ways our body’s functions are being disrupted; one major, measurable trend being the rising epidemic of overweight & obesity in America. Getting the toxins out seems like a good idea. Her solutions aren’t real complicated & difficult.

thought I had a cadence going

thought the downbeat was day after next. every other. then, I was about to jump in to keep the pace & my computer was black. nothing. my little macbook, no response. I waited a day & could turn it back on, but not connect to the internet. most unsavvy. another could have figured it out earlier, perhaps. is still acting weird. I cannot get online thru firefox. ??

I just ate a dish of 3 small soft boiled eggs, cut in 6ths, with cooked venison burger (gifted from sharon) sprinkled on top. I cooked the burger with lots of spices. organic, mexican blend, turmeric, mediterranean blend, organic garlic power, onion powder, additional cayenne pepper, organic black pepper, celtic sea salt. It was very yummy.

There was a research study with two groups of women, the tested group ate eggs for breakfast. That was the only change they made. At the end of the study the women eating eggs every morning lost weight. I will have to look up the info to refresh on details. Eggs are a healthy food, if they are organic, free range. There is some info out there that the best way to eat eggs is raw (in smoothies, no prob. with salmonella, if eggs are from healthy chickens), or boiled or poached. It is not so good to whip the yolk all up to contact it with oxygen & then expose it to high heat. I do really like scrambled & I think they are still healthy, maybe just not quite as healthy as the other methods. I like soft boiled eggs with cooked spinach or other greens, or green beans. Don’t need the toast. (but I like toast too)

I love you Sarah & Crystal. I know you’re trying to encourage me. Two of the best all-time sweetie pies!!

jan.06.10 (but not really)

TRYING to do this everyday. Missed the mark.

Cold & snowy … should be goggling temp services & doing laundry among other things …

Okay, I was thinking about trans fratz. You too?

Some of the more famous health writers refer to trans fats as franken-fats or plastic fat because the body cannot recognize or process them. They’re not natural. There are so many old ideas about fats, but today, I tend to believe most people are becoming aware. You probably already know this. Ingesting natural fat does not automatically make one fat. Some help you lose weight. There are healthy fats, fats not so healthy in the natural realm, and extremely unhealthy when altered by bad science man. Bad science man thinks he knows better than God Himself & alters natural food or food components, to heighten profits (make “food” lifeless, thus with longer shelf-life & to make producing it cheaper) & for easier marketing to the masses (more attractive, more addicting, etc, etc.. (yikes!)

It’s a good thing nobody is really reading this yet, as that all sounded pretty boring.

SOME GENERALLY “GOOD” FOOD FATS

Avocado (eat whole, 1-4/day might help one lose weight rather than gain) or use the oil, yum!

Walnut Oil (I enjoy the light flavor & use this for sauteing, in “better-butter”, many ways - use it quite a lot)

Hemp seed Oil (I think the food variety is only Marijuana’s slightly related cousin & is a very healthy food)

Coconut Oil (misunderstood, has many health benefits, such as weight loss, helps with diabetes, IBS, Chrohn’s & alzheimer’s, some say the BEST oil to fry & cook with,)

Olive Oil (everyone knows this is good now, the more natural the processing, the better, also best on salads, etc. cooking can damage the oil)

Grapeseed Oil (light flavor, I like this also)

Macadamia Nut Oil (too$$$ for me most of the time. very healthy & helps w/weight loss)

Butter (raw milk, from grass-fed, species-correct cows is best and is $$$, of course, most ANY butter is better than low fat margarine)

SOME GENERALLY “BAD” FOOD FATS

Margarines & Shortenings (hydrogenated or trans-fats, liquid oils heated at very high temperatures to make it more solid -“more stable”, says bad science man … actually implicated in heart damage, diabetes, alzheimer’s, cancer & more)

Canola Oil (true name-Rapeseed Oil, used to be marketed as “health food” but has serious dark issues)

Soybean Oil (when it is GMO, un-organic or, probably, most of the time as it is in everything & many people are sensitive … there is the estrogen factor as well . . )

“Vegetable Oils” (corn, safflower, etc. -thought to be health food, but high omega 6 oils are way too abundant in the American diet & the imbalance can cause free radical damage, & poss. suppress thyroid and/or immune function)

Wait! this is supposed to be short, casual, interesting & conversational? Ratz!

… now I’m thinking about … how do you attach pictures to these posts? I don’t have any to attach, just wondering. Might be good to add an interest factor.

sarah says

I have a beautiful daughter that is trying to get me started. I am an ultimate procrastinator. Natural Health has been a study for me for the last many years & I have planned to employ a “newsletter” (I mean a shared & mailed!! info document, it’s really been that long) to share some of the simple truths I believe could encourage others to start, at least, asking questions and looking for answers. Sarah has introduced me to tumblr. I hope I can stop the lolly gagging & let out some of the backlog of info I just keep soaking up like a sponge.

It’s all out there, many different ideas, many different voices & styles. My style is pretty much easy (lazy?) & cheap. I don’t generally do stuff that is really super complicated, expensive & uber-radical (my 18 year old son would disagree). But I have incorporated certain things into my lifestyle that I believe make uncommon sense and that the more you know, the easier it is to make a few changes. I know too much to follow the wide path. I try to do my best much of the time. I am still, far, far from where I want to be. Time & money, at present, my largest obstacles to doing it “better”. Doing a healthy life better is a good thing. Ya gotta be something … might as well be healthy, full of lovely life and sparkling energy, clear headed … just sayin’.

When you follow the natural health (alternative health) road, you will find you know about health issues, the good things the evil-bad things, usually, long before it becomes mainstream “news”. My mother taught us never to use the teflon flake-off frying pans when they came out & white sugar, salt & flour are from satan (nope, I have never been vaccinated). I was preachin’ it on trans-fats way,way before New York City banned the substance & you now see it on all the packaging in the “zero” sense. It’s great to be in the know.

Next time, I will share how I have been non trans-fatting it for years.
